The State of hispanic Journalism in 2013: An Honest Look at the Obstacles, Opportunities and Trends Impacting Latino Journalists

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

These are both exciting and extremely challenging times for Hispanic media and journalists.  On the one hand, new national TV and social media networks are being launched and journalists have more tools than ever before to report and produce great content.  On the other, many traditional media outlets are reducing staff and forcing journalists to do more with less pay while bloggers are competing for content and audiences with business models that are starting to thrive.

In this session you will learn:

- An industry-by-industry snapshot of journalism trends in: TV, social media, radio, newspaper and magazines

- How Hispanic and general market media outlets are redefining themselves and the implications of those changes for Latinos in journalism

- The challenges, threats and opportunities journalists face today

- Where the jobs are and how can you get them?
